VersaSpa Tips

The VersaSpa is completely cosmetic and completely UV-Free.  With three shades available, we can help you choose the one that is best suited for your skin tone and the result you want.  The spray itself takes only a few minutes and it generally lasts between 5-10 days depending on aftercare.

You can choose a full or partial body application to bronze, hydrate and smooth your skin.

 Note: When booking a Versa Spa appointment please make sure you prepare your skin prior to coming in by doing the following;

•  Shower - preferably 12 hours before
• Exfoliate with a non-oil based exfoliant
• Shave your legs etc if applicable 24 hours prior to appointment
• Do not apply moisturisers, makeup, perfume or deodorants as these add a barrier to the skin
• Come in with loose dark clothing
• Choose a time of the day where you won't be perspiring excessively or swimming/shower again for at least 4 hours (8 hours is optimum). The longer you can leave it the better your tan will turn out.
• Tan will develop over 24 hours

Aftercare for your tan:

·  Add life to your tan with a vitamin-enriched, tan extending lotion.  These deliver colour with each application.

·  Keep skin moisturised.

·  To fade your tan naturally, use a gentle exfoliant after a few days to remove dead skin cells.

·  Don't have any hot baths or spas as this breaks down the solution.

The entire process takes only a few minutes!

How long does the VersaSpa application last?

Everyone's skin is different, but for most people it lasts about 5-7 days.

Can I wear a swimsuit while doing the VersaSpa?

Most people tan in the nude to get that all-around colour.  Undergarments or swimsuits can be work if you are more comfortable and if you don't care about tan lines.  However, please note that anything you wear in the booth may get ruined.

Will the VersaSpa stain my clothes?

Generally speaking, no.  We recommend that you wear loose-fitting, dark clothing in a soft material such as cotton.  Sometimes the darker shade might rub off onto your clothing or sheets before your first shower, but it generally doesn't stain and will wash out.  However, please avoid wearing fabrics such as silk or rayon before your first shower, as it will not wash out of these materials.

Does the VersaSpa look fake or "orange"?

No!  It looks completely natural and it fades evenly too.  And remember, it comes in a couple of different shades, so you can choose the one that will look more natural with your skin tone.

What about my hair?

We provide you with a disposable cap for your hair and if you do get a little in your hair, it will wash right out.

How long do I have to wait between VersaSpa Sessions?

That is entirely up to you.  Most people who do the VersaSpa regularly get one about once a week, or once it begins to fade.  Or, if you want even darker results, you can do two at once!

Does the VersaSpa look streaky or fade looking "spotty"?

No, as long as you wait at least 6-8 hours before shower, you will have nothing to worry about.

Will the VersaSpa provide a sufficient base tan before I go on holiday?

Unfortunately, no.  The VersaSpa is completely cosmetic and does not provide a sufficient base tan.  We recommend that you do some tanning in a regular UV booth before going away and always wear an SPF when spending any significant amount of time in the sun.  Also, swimming in either salt or chlorinated water regularly will cause your VersaSpa to fade more quickly.

Is the VersaSpa safe?

The active ingredient is dihydroxyacetone (DHA), more commonly known as Self-Tanner.  This is the same ingredient found in all self-tanning lotions and is approved by the FDA.  However, women who are breastfeeding should cover their nipples during the application process.
